교회에서의 아멘

하나님의 말씀과 설교는 같은 것이 아닙니다. 그런데 많은 목사들이 자신의 설교를 신성화시키는 듯이 청중들로 하여금 성경이 아닌 자신의 말에 무조건 “아멘”을 복창시킵니다. "내일 반드시 새벽기도 전원 출석입니다? 아멘?" 이것은 범죄입니다. “아멘”은 하나님께 드려지는 기도,그리고 하나님의 말씀인 성경에만 화답하는 언어이어야 합니다.

The word of God and the sermon are not the same thing. Many priests, however, unconditionally recapitulate "Amen" to the audience in their words, rather than the Bible, as if to sanctify their sermon. "Are you all going to to come to prayer meeting tomorrow? Amen?" This is a crime. "Amen" should be the language of prayer given to God and of responding only to the Bible, the word of God.

찬송가에 사용되어지는 “아멘”도 가사로 들어가게끔 작사되어 있다면 부르되, 찬송가 끝에 “아멘”이 있어야 찬송이라고 무조건 집어넣은 것은 로마 카톨릭의 전통을 생각 없이 따르는 것이 될 수 있습니다.
If "Amen," which is used in a hymn, is written with lyrics, it is called, but it is impossible to use "Amen" at the end of the hymn like the tradition of Roman Catholicism.

 

하나님의 말씀을 제대로 전달하고 있는 목사의 설교를 듣고 정말 감동이 되어서 “아멘”을 할 수는 있습니다. 그런데 문제는 한국 교회들에서 “아멘”이 무슨 주문이나 단합대회 구호처럼 사용이 된다는 것입니다. “아멘” 소리가 커야 은혜 받고 단합이 잘 된다고 착각을 합니다. 
You can say "Amen" to the sermon of the pastor who delivers the word of God properly. The problem is that "Amen" is used in Korean churches as an order or as a slogan for a pep rally. "Amen" is a loud noise that is believed to be a good grace and unity.

 

교인들이 “아멘”을 구령처럼 열심히 소리치면 마귀가 달아납니까? 내가 믿음이 성장합니까?착각입니다. “아멘”은 주문도 아니고 구호도 아닙니다.
If the congregation shouts "Amen" hard, will the devil flee? Do I grow faith? It's an illusion. Amen is not an order or a slogan.

 

회중 기도가 끝날 때도 습관적으로 무조건 “아멘”하지 마십시오. 내 심령을 두드리는 기도의 내용에, 진심으로 하나님께 나아가는 기도에 “아멘”하는 것입니다. “아멘”이 주문과 구호가 되어서는 안됩니다. 
Do not routinely say "Amen" to the end of the congregational prayer. Say "Amen" to the prayer when your heart beaten, to the prayer of God wholeheartedly. "Amen" should not be orders or slogans.

 

목사가 강조하는 설교 문장마다 “아멘”으로 대답하지 않는다고 공식적으로 망신을 주고 발을 구르며 눈을 부라리는 목사의 교회는 더 이상 출석할 필요가 없습니다. 그런 목사들은 설교가 무엇인지도 모르는 자들입니다. 자신이 왕처럼 대접 받아야 한다는 망상에 사로잡혀 있는 자들입니다.
The church no longer needs to attend, as it publicly shames the minister for not responding to every sermon he emphasizes, "Amen." They don't even know what a sermon is. They are obsessed with the idea that they should be treated like kings.

 

외부 강사가 와서 설교 중에 그런 행동을 했는데 그 다음 주일까지 본 교회 담임 목사가 “그런 강사를 오게 한 것이 실수였다”고 교인들에게 해명하지 않는다면 담임목사도 동의한다는 의미이고 그렇다면 그 교회는 다니지 마십시오. 똑같은 자들입니다. 교회에서의 직분으로 세상의 영광을 누리려는 자들입니다.
If a guest lecturer came and did that during the sermon and the pastor didn't say, "It was my mistake to have the lecturer come," by the end of the week, they're the same people. They want to enjoy the glory of the world for their duties in the church.

 

제가 아는 서울의 어느 유명한 교회에서는 설교 중에 “아멘”을 거의 하지 않는 교회가 있습니다. 출석 교인이 5천명이 넘습니다. 그 교회 담임목사는 한국에서 설교를 제일 잘 하는 목사 중의 한 사람입니다. 지금은 은퇴하셨죠. 한 번은 예배 중에 그 교회의 등록 교인이 아니고 설교가 은혜롭다기에 들어보려고 찾아 온 신자가 설교를 듣는 중에 큰 소리로 “아멘, 아멘”을 했습니다. 그런데 계속 혼자 하는 거예요. 결국 멋쩍었는지 몇 주 지나고 영 안 나타나더랍니다.
In one famous church in Seoul that I know, the church members seldom say "Amen" during the sermon. There are more than five thousand people present. That church minister is one of the best preacher in Korea. He's retired now. One time, not a member of the church, but a believer who came to listen to the sermon spoke loudly, "Amen, Amen..." But he kept doing it alone. And after a few weeks, he didn't show up.

 

제가 신학생 때는 그 목사님 설교를 테이프로 들으면서 설교를 어떻게 잘 할 수 있을지 공부했습니다. 지금은 가끔 인터넷으로 듣는데 실제는 작은 소리로 “아멘” 소리가 들릴 때도 있습니다. 전혀 하지 않는 것은 아니에요. 자연스럽게 강요하지 않고 청중들이 각자 작은 소리로 하는 사람도 있고, 마음속으로 하는 사람도 있습니다. 
When I was a theological seminary student, I learned how to preach well by listening to the pastor's sermon on audio tapes. Now I sometimes listen to it on the Internet, but I just sometimes hear "Amen" in a small voice. There aren't people in the audience who force themselves say "Amen."

 

설교자는 청중이 감동하고 있는지 아닌지를 강대상에서 알 수 있습니다. 청중들의 상태를 몰라서 “아멘”을 강요하는 설교자라면 이미 설교자의 자질이 부족한 사람입니다. 아니면 청중들을 유치원 수준으로 밖에 보지 않는다는 말이겠죠.
The preacher can tell from the pulpit whether the audience is moving or not. A preacher who doesn't know the state of his audience and forces "Amen" is already lacking the quality of the preacher. Or he is only looking at the audience at kindergarten.

 

“입으로 말해야 행동을 하게 한다”는 이상한 이론도 있습니다. 말로 하다보면 그렇게 살게 된다는 뜻입니다. 하지만 그것은 진실을 말해야 하는 성도의 삶의 원리와 거리가 있는 세뇌적인 방법입니다. 그런 방법은 거짓된 습관적인 입술만 키우게 될 수 있습니다.

There is a strange theory that it takes words to act. That's how you live like your saying. But it is a brainwashing way away from the principle of a saint's life to tell the truth. That can only lead to the growth of false, habitual lips.
