Study is a kind of training

공부란 지식의 암기가 아니다.

자연 혹은 인문 분야의 어떤 원인과 결과에 대해 과거로부터 쌓아 올려진 논리적인 해석을 학습함으로 미래에 일어날 비슷한 상황을 예측해 내고 그에 대한 대응을 준비하기 위한 훈련이다.

Study is not a kind of memorizing.

Studying on the logical analysis about cause and effect of the nature and the humanities built up from the past, we can foresee what would happen in the future and prepare for the response. Study is a kind of training.

성경의 예언을 포함한 하나님의 모든 말씀은 세상의 다른 진리처럼 과거로부터 기록되었으며 미래를 위해 준비하게 한다.

All scripture including prediction makes us prepare for the future like any other knowledge in the world.

그러나 성경공부에 있어서는 일반 학문을 공부하는 것과 다른 한 가지 중요한 차이가 있다. 하나님의 말씀은 좌우에 날 선 검이라는 것이다. 건축자의 버린 돌이 모퉁이의 머릿돌이 되기도 하면서 또한 부딪히는 돌과 거치는 반석이 되기도 한다(벧전 2:7-8).

But we have the most important thing in the Bible study which makes difference from the others. The word of God is the two edged sword. "...the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence..." (1 Peter 2:7~8).

선과 악, 의와 불의. 내 안에 있는 그 둘이 다른 것이 아니라 바로 나 자신이었음을 깨닫고 은혜로 초월할 때에만 나의 욕심과 야망에 의해 받을 최후 심판에서 살아날 수 있다.

Good and evil. Righteousness and unrighteousness. Realizing the two is not the others but one in myself and overcoming it by grace, we are able to survive from the final judgement caused by greed and desire of mine.

모세가 매어 단 놋뱀은 심판의 불뱀인 동시에 백성들의 죄악에서 구원 받음을 상징하고 있다. 뱀의 정체를 제대로 보는 자는 살아난다.

The serpent of brass Moses lifted up types surviving from the sin of the people same as the fiery serpents for the judgement. When we see it, we can see ourselves and be saved. The old serpent is myself.

Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived. Numbers 21:9.

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:15~16.

I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. Rom 7:21.
