The Thing More Important Than the Interpretation

성경해석보다 더 중요한 것

성경말씀을 교리적으로 이해하는 설교자는 낙제다. 그의 설교가 교리적으로 틀리지는 않겠지만 교리를 뛰어넘지 못한다. 교리는 설교의 방향과 지침은 될 수 있을지언정 감동과 변화를 일으키지 못한다.

The preacher fails if he makes sense of the Scripture in a doctrinal way. Although his sermons are not wrong, they are not able to jump up the doctrines. The doctrines may be the directions and guidelines but they never make people touched and changed.

성경말씀을 휴먼 감동 스토리나 자기계발서로 착각하는 설교자도 낙제다. 영적인 면에 대한 기본적인 이해가 없기 때문이다.

If he understands the Scripture as moving stories or self development books, he also fails. Because he has no idea about spiritual aspect.

성경해석은 설교에 있어서 매우 중요한 부분이다.

The interpretation has a very important place in preaching.

그러나 대부분의 설교자가 자신의 설교에 있어서 100%의 정확한 해석을 하는 것은 아니다. 시간이 흐르면서 설교자 자신의 성경관과 인생관이 변화하기도 한다. 성경을 대하는 설교자의 영적 수준이 점차 변화하기에 해석도 달라질 수밖에 없다. 심지어 어거스틴이나 칼빈의 해석도 어떤 일부에서 문제점이나 오류가 발견이 될 수 있다.

However, no preaching of the scripture is of any precise interpretation (Cf. 2Pet. 1:20). Passing time, the preachers are changed in their view points about life and the passages. And changed spiritual standards, also changed their interpretations. Even there might be wrong interpretations in the some works of Augustine and Calvin.

그러므로 해석의 옳고 그름은 설교에 있어서 절대적인 것은 아니다. 성경의 진정한 저자이신 하나님 외에 어느 누가 완벽한 해석을 할 수 있을까?

Therefore it is not absolute to judge between right and wrong in the Bible interpretation. Who is absolutely able to interpret the Bible except God, the true author?

올바른 해석은 아닐지라도 본문을 이해하고자 하는 ‘의도와 내용’이 좋은 경우가 있다. 그럴 경우 하나님은 약간의 해석상 오류가 있는 설교라도 용인(사용)하시는 것 같다. 훗날 또 다른 기회를 통해 더 좋은 해석에 이를 수 있도록 설교자를 훈련하고 인도하신다.

You may preach a misinterpreted sermon which has a good intention and contents. In that case it seems that God admits and uses the preaching in His way. He trains and leads the preacher to be better afterward.

하나님은 인간의 실수조차 그 목적을 갖고 계신다. 해석과 깨달음도 중요하지만 더 중요한 것은 설교자가 하나님의 손 안에 있어야 한다는 것이다. 당신은 확신하는가?

God even has a good purpose for human error. Importance is for interpretation and insight, and more importance is for which the preacher should be in God's Hand. Are you sure where you are?
